So, in news that shouldn't surprise anyone at all, I went to see the midnight showing of HP6 on Wednesday.
We get there about 40 minutes early and are amazed at the line. When I'd bought tickets three days before, the MoA supposedly only had it showing in three theaters; yet the line snaked four people thick ALL THE WAY AROUND THE 4TH FLOOR, then made a U-turn and wrapped back down the hall again. For reference, the MoA is 5 miles around if you add up all four floors... so that's what... a 1/2 mile long line? Whoa!
Max brought up the fact that, whenever she finds herself amidst a bunch of HP fans, she can't help but wonder how many of them read TWT/TIN or Seven. I had to admit I thought of that too. >.> I even briefly missed fandom until two of the people in front of us started bitching about this and that and I remembered the DOWNSIDE of it also... hahaha
No reviews from me I don't think, other than me saying I need to see it again. By the time we got into our theater the only seats left were in the very front row, all the way off to the right... and everything was completely skewed. So teenage!Tom Riddle either has a COMPLETELY OBLONG HEAD or uh, I need to re-watch the movie. XD |

Today, my boss was explaining what he felt to be a major flaw about the new ST movie, which he just saw last night. Now, I told him he was being silly, and as they made it into an Alternative Universe, they pretty much had free reign to do whatever they wanted to do. He insisted that such-and-such wasn't in the Original Series and therefore made no sense being in the movie.
I tried explaining in simple terms. He still didn't get it.
Finally, I broke down and explained it using Back to the Future II as my reference. Just by mentioning the chalkboard diagram that Doc drew, he finally admits that he couldn't argue against that, but it still didn't "feel" right.
I think this was my NERDIEST MOMENT EVER.
Seriously.
Is there a prize for something like that? :D? |
